A whovian's thoughts

Now before we get into it I am a fan of both Classic & New Who and I am Switzerland in regards to Mlp:Fi M. That being said I do like Doctor Whooves Adventures quite a bit. So the question of the hour is "why" right? Well after giving the series, shorts and extras the once over (with exception to wrong way backwards)and thinking on it for a day or so I think i can give some reasons.

Tthe first reason is it feels like Who i say this because well listening to them (12 and Shadows of the Lunar Republic especially) I forgot that i was listening to a crossover fan series and thought I had a Doctor Who dvd playing with an episode that I had forgotten about.

The second reason the characters just feel organic, from the 12th Doctor to Twilight Sparkle to Goodnight. Everyone feels real and nothing sounds forced, From Twilight's confusion of how The doctor works (Or building a trapdoor in her living room), To the doctor's boast towards the Angels or him singing to Goodnight. It feels real don't know how else to describe really.

Another reason I like it is the writing is pretty good. Doesn't matter if the doctor is explaining what a Weeping angel is or if Pinkie is just eating some breakfast. The timing with its Humor or drama is spot-on and it pacing is also good. Never feels rushed, nor does it seem to drag.

Granted one complaint I do have about the series is it does have a few pony puns and if you're not looking out for them, they can knock you out of the experience.(Prance, Hoffany, Nieghpoleonic Really?) but it is a small complaint in the grand scheme of things.

The point is This Series (Which at time of writing this is a bout half way through season 1) is FANTASTIC! And this troper believes that it can be enjoyed by fans of ether show with little to no problems.

The pony/horse puns come from MLP, where seemingly every town and city's name is a pun, from Fillydelphia, Manehatten, Canterlot, Los Pegasus, Baltimare, Van Hoover and Ponyville itself, and it's in that tradition that fans change names, events, ideas so that they're 'ponified' so to speak, sorry if it's immersion breaking

Heh, we actually lampshade this in the first episode of "Daring Do Adventures," where Coco responds in confusion about the existence of a place called "The Amazon," when she "Thought all the places in the world were pony puns."
