Though set in Dark Danny's Uplifted verse, knowledge of the previous stories is not needed in order to understand the story. A beautiful and touching story about House and Wilson being called down to North Carolina to try to save Jamie, the Miracle Workers also explores the larger context of global medical inequality and the interplay between medicine and religion. I think it captures the characters from the show and the movie perfectly, and his depiction of House, both hard edged and at times showing his inner softer side, is spot on. While technically a 3 way crossover, Mass Effect elements don't appear in the story. I cannot recommend this story enough for fans of House, and of A Walk to Remember.
