A creepy, cleverly written bit of fiction.

This is one of the more famous Creepypastas out there, and for good reason. While using fictional messageboard posts in stories isn't a new thing in Creepypasta lore, this uses it well. Each "post" is written in a way that's descriptive enough to create vivid mental images, but not so much as to leave no room for your imagination to fill in the blanks with whatever horrible things you can think of, which is much scarier. The dialogue reads very natural; you can just imagine a bunch of people saying this stuff in real life.

The "Candle Cove" show itself though, is the real gem of this story. Unless a lot of "lost episode"-type pastas, Candle Cove doesn't rely on loads of gore, and instead features mainly hysterical screaming, unintentionally disturbing imagery, and threats of skin-grinding to scare. Best of all, it's a quick read that doesn't overstay its welcome. A definite must-read for horror fans.

The tvtropes page hasn't been filled out, so I went to look it up after your review.

I disagree that it is well written. If anything, it is far too descriptive - you have to bear in mind that the people in the thread are supposed to all already know what the show was about, so it is implausible that they would then provide detailed descriptions of each character to each other. Surely they'd just go "skin stealer - uh, enough said", and not go into lurid detail about it (that would have been more effective, too). Perhaps if one of the posters had no idea what the show was about, and needed it describing to them, it would have made more sense.

Apart from that, there is too much reliance on creepypasta clichés: creepy baby doll heads, a dream that isn't a dream, a thing that's all in your mind etc. They are all things that would get the story cut, if it were on the SCP Foundation. When you've read one of those sorts of stories, you've read them all.

Book me today! I also review weddings, funerals and bar mitzvahs.
