A fanfic series so well written, it makes me sad that this isn't official

The story of Tales of Republic City is straight-forward; it is the married life of Aang and Katara. But in line with the show, the author treated such a simple story with the dignity it deserves and chronicles their life in Republic City as a heartwarming tale of trials and tribulations as Aang and Katara transition into parenthood. All the while maintaining the unique world that Avatar has built up with all their shows.

The 28-chapter series is not afraid to deal into some more serious issues, hence the M rating, but save for a few key moments, they are as subtle as the Aang's show dealt with serious issues. Besides Aang and Katara's married relationship, the show also delves into the lives of Kya, Bumi and Tenzin, and how they themselves grow up. As the story progresses, we see hints of references to Aang's show and what eventually comes in Korra's show, without being forced to fall back or rely on them to make original stories.

Emotions run high as the Kataang family deals with the whole pallet of human emotions; happiness, sadness, humor, etc. They will definitely keep you glued to the screen as you go from chapter to chapter, that by the end, you will be in tears. As good as the story is, the ending is the biggest pay-off that will have you in tears.

If I had to sum it up, think of it as the first 10 minutes of the Pixar movie "Up", but made into a series and with Avatar elements. Definitely one of the best Avatar fanfics out there, and it makes me sad that this isn't official. If Mike Di Martino and Bryan Konietzko were to read this, I'm positive they will love it as much as the readers of the Internet did.
