I stumbled upon this fic because I was following the author in another fandom, and by the end was shocked it didn't have more reviews. The writing is beautiful and the whole piece has a very surreal, dreamlike quality, while still maintaining characterization. There's a lot of emotion in just a few words, and it's just a little heartbreaking. All about how America and England are similar in lots of (dark) ways, and how everything, especially empires, fall.
