I'm not usually a big fan of Sonic fanfic. Most of the ones I've read are just shipping fics about character I never cared about. But this one. Oh boy.
You can feel the emotions and the danger Sonic is facing. He begins honestly thinking he can make it through, and then he starts to get scared. It's great writing that makes you care about the guy, and then you read Metal Sonic's side on the story, and realize how he's loving this.
It begins as a simple story and it develops in a cat and mouse game, and sometimes you just don't know how it's going to end. More than once I thought Sonic was going to die, and he's Sonic the freaking Hedgehog. Writing something that makes me feel like this dude can't win is not easy, and I seriously recommend it to anyone who likes to read about rivals facing off.
