To put bluntly, the characters are insane. Naruto being subjected to Mind Rape by the Kyuubi, which has been upgraded from a dangerous being to a terrifying Eldritch Abomination, and his ability to see the dead have pretty much ruined his childhood and sanity, and Sasuke is clearly mentally disturbed. Some scene will chill you to the bone.
However, the character interactions are extremely good. The co-dependent, almost brother-like relationship between the two characters is perfectly written, and their interactions with the rest of the cast, alive or dead, is executed very well.
To resume, if you aren't looking for a light-hearted story, you will find this one a dark, disturbing jewel.
Dark, sinister, and extremely good
