The story doesn't seem to exist anymore. Shame, it sounds really good.

I fully second this recommendation. Not only are Light and L fully, painfully in-character all throughout, it's very intelligently written, has excellent pacing, and is brutally realistic about the pairing of Light/L. It's dark without being too grim and I enjoyed the Bittersweet Ending. This has become one of my favourite Death Note fics.
