I'm hoping you're being sarcastic here. If fourteenth squad existed it would have been mentioned in canon and that alone disrupts the story. I found the story to be boring and I can't see how he could go into greater depths with the canon characters when they barely appear in the actual story. Which is why I'm thinking you're being sarcastic, as that in itself is rather obvious.

The author tries his hardest to slide his story into the main storyline while disrupting as little as possible. For the most part, he suceeds in writing an interesting story that goes into greater depth with characters than BLEACH itself does, revealing motivations and feelings in believable ways.
