This story is incredible. Everyone is wonderfully in-character, and the canon relationships, while past-tense, are all treated with depth and respect, particularly the relationship between Katara and Aang, both in flashbacks and within the story. The plot is engaging, the shipping doesn't overwhelm the story, and it has an almost Miyazaki-like feel to it, especially when the characters travel to the Spirit World. Even if you don't like Zutara, you should read this story, for the wonderful, realistic interactions between the characters and the in-depth plot.
