The Recobbled Review

I gotta say, once when watched the Miramax Films cut, I utterly loathed it. It was DISGUSTING. A shameless Aladdin ripoff (ironically, Disney owned Miramax at the time) with stupid songs and main characters who are UNABLE TO SHUT UP. This is an improvement. Our story centers around Tack, a cobbler who, after angering the Grand Vizier Zigzag, falls in love with Princess Yum Yum. But after a Thief plunges the city into danger, Tack must save the day.

The animation is master class; not surprising, given it was made by the same guy who made the animation for Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Since everything goes on at once in this movie, you may think that the story is hard to follow...actually, no. I’m happy that Garret Gilchrist was able to partially restore Richard Williams’ vision. May he rest in piece.

9/10
