A horror movie plot fleshed out and action movie meat and skin, this is a movie to see if you like action. An unstoppable machine is sent from the future to kill a random person called Sarah Connor, and human soldier is sent back to defend her. Both must blend into and navigate the modern (o 1980's united states) world as they carry out their missions.
You ca see the budget was low, but it clearly was used efficiently. Nothing looks bad apart from some special effects at the end, even the future war scenes look believable. The best comparison is a 1990's well made computer game.
The movie moves quickly and uses its time well, every scene add something with little downtime. It takes advantage of the setup well, not only do we see fights with the terminator, but Reese's often funny interactions with people who understandably don't believe or know a time travelling robot is coming for them, and similar scenes for the terminator. The car chases, shootouts, and fights are appropriately scary or exciting as needed.
The only possible problem I see, apart from people who just don't like this kind of movie, is that a few scenes may be too scary. One particular shootout feels very close to real.
So, if you like action, sci-fi, or anything similar, watch this movie if you haven't already.
