The "original character" is at worst a Marty Stu SI the likes of DJ Croft and at best the Authors "mouth piece", also the Author tends to make his SI look better by making Ranma a "complete asshole" instead of the usual "jerk with a heart of gold". The fact that by the mid-chapters Ranma's 'female side' has some kind of crush on the male SI takes this from distasteful to pathetic.
