It oscillates through a fairly even blend of comedy and drama, but much of the last few chapters are dark and almost purely dramatic in the vein of the main Harry Potter series itself. The deconstruction of the Peggy Sue genre of Potter fics is only part of the appeal of the series; it could easily stand on its own.
