Very low budget, the show is rife with animation errors and awkward mismatches of character expression and what's actually going on. Improves on this front in the second season.
The educational moments either come off forced, like the characters are giant nerds, or like the characters' don't have their priorities in order. Very rarely takes away from the episode.
Wonderful character interactions. Makes you really feel that these kids care about each other.
