Disappointing

I'm going to be honest, I used to enjoy these fics a lot more. When the author actually tries, they can be pretty good. It's just that... Well, let's see.

First off, there are a lot of extraneous details. The books that introduce the RWBY, Pretty Cure, and Kill la Kill characters are are decent, but they are thrown into the mix without any prior planning, and ultimately have no effect on the plot. The author even admitted that they had simply discovered and enjoyed the later two and just decided to introduce them.

Second, there's the matter of Teana herself. In canon, Teana's magical capabilities are on the weaker end of the spectrum (it's why she is taught Starlight Breaker, which bypasses this weakness). It makes her battles more interesting—she doesn't just fight physically, she outsmarts and traps her enemies. Soooo, what to do but give her the Sharingan? And make her half-Saiyan? And give her loads and LOADS of magical power? I initially thought any 'Mary Sue-ness' was mitigated by the fact that she acknowledged that she was wrong in the matters of Nanoha's training. Except, she isn't. Nanoha's training program is poorly conceived. So Teana is still in the right.

Oh, and it's not just Teana—power ups for everybody! Subaru is a jinchuuriki! Homura can use variations of Kakashi's jutsu, I forget what it's name is. If the author ever read Batman, they would give Bruce Wayne the Rinnegan to make things more interesting. It wouldn't be too bad if they held back some, but these people are merciless.Teana actually murders a prisoner to get another one to talk.

And let's not even get into the Fanservice. One of the first things to happen in the series? A Halo ship gives Teana a bigger bust. I am not kidding. And then we have the huge web of polyamorous relationships that encompass most of the female cast and maybe four or five of the males. And THEN there's the DIAPERS. Why the diapers? Why? It doesn't serve the plot, it doesn't... why.

That's not to say it's all bad. The action is somewhat enjoyable if you ignore (or fail to notice) the glaring issues. That's the problem—they're hard to miss.

I completely agree about the powerups, particularly that they negate the point of Teana\'s character arc as far as her development as a mage goes, which is learning to use what she has more effectively rather than trying in vain to power up through brute force. Furthermore, the fact that she essentially deserts doesn\'t mesh well with her desire to redeem her family\'s good name after her brother was unfairly disgraced.

It could be because I\'m more sympathetic to Nanoha\'s side of the \"White Devil Incident,\" but I always thought the fic was completely biased toward Teana as far as that issue went.

The crossovers seem haphazard, and, similar to what you said, it\'s clear that the author wants to include all his favorite series, not those that would make good stories/work well together. Furthermore, while those series are popular, you may be relatively hard-pressed to find people who have read *all* of them, *and* can overlook the fic\'s glaring flaws.
