This film isn't the next Entei, Lucario, or Keldeo movie. It isn't that level of quality in storytelling, and it's pacing is odd.
However.....the movie has continuity callbacks of various sorts with other movies such as 2 and 5, and features legendaries trying to beat each other up.
And Ash commanding legendary Pokemon against other Legendary Pokemon.
That should be the main attraction of the movie, for that is what will lead to one's highest level of satisfaction.
If you go in expecting a story that is high quality by Pokefilm standards, you won't find it.
