This is one of the best pieces of fanfiction I have ever read. Don’t let the fact that it goes back in time stop you from reading it as this gem is so much more than that. With character interactions, bits of humor interspersed throughout, and character development, the writing is spectacular. I didn't think it was possible to feel heartbroken and overjoyed at the same time, but this did so more than once.
But quite possibly the best thing about this work is the fact that all of the characters are in character. No one is without fault or completely vilified, even Odin and Laufey, which I have never seen happen in the same fic before.
Be sure to set aside a few hours to read it, as it is a decent length.
