My science teacher (Ms. Sinclair, if you're reading this, than you are a horrible teacher and I hated your 9th grade science class) showed us this movie. Me and my friend sat through the whole damn thing (like 2 1/2 hours if I recall) and just mocked it the whole way through. This movie is so pretentious, so droning, so experimental, so nonsensical, that it is absolutely hilarious. The characters behave barely like human beings, the plot drags on forever yet plot developments are rushed, and while the cinematography is admittedly stunning, the film drowns (hehe, its about diving) in its own pretentiousness. Under all of this, it is prime Snark Bait and an arthouse movie that becomes an unintentional Popcorn flick. Just turn off your brain and watch this trainwreck, its hilarious. I don't want to give away spoilers, but it just escalates in how mindbogglingly pretentious it is. I saw the English dub too, so I have no idea how it is in French with English subtitles.
