My favourite play.

I know this is an obscure show, and probably nobody is going to read my review, but I have to say that watching this play was one of the best theatre-going experiences of my life.

It's brilliantly written, the music is lovely, and the third-act can be genuinely nightmarish if done right. It gets a little slow at some points but overall, it's worth paying attention to every single line of dialogue, even when it doesn't seem to be all that important.

I saw this play just last night. The theater had it set up so for Act I, the audience was watching from where the performers would normally act and walk around (i.e. stage and aisles). They switched it back to normal for Act II. Anyway, I also love this play. While I didn't realize it at first, the inaccuracies (electric eels became piranhas, blood became ketchup) were intentional as the survivors were bound to get some facts wrong. Act II was a little slow, but necessary to the plot. Plus, Sideshow Bob coming out from under the car was awesome. Act III blew me away. It occurred to me after the show that "You see, Lisa? I bring you love." was a subtle reference to The Springfield Files. It was indeed nightmarish. A couple of things were different than shown here on TV Tropes. The ending with the lights was just Mr. Burns using a crank to generate electricity, not pedaling a bike. Finally, instead of eating Maggie, *shudder* Burns just chases Bart backstage, you hear crying then a THWACK! He comes back out after Bart. Burns is cradling her in his arms. Then he PULLS HER HEAD OFF and tosses both pieces backstage! People gasped. THAT'S good theater.

Hey, Sayori, wanna hang out?
