You'll wish to be in a classroom like this

What do you get when you take a super fast octopus with a love for teaching and boobs and put him in a classroom of dead end students? Something wonderfully entertaining.

Assassination Classroom is a manga that focuses on the previously mentioned super fast octopus nicknamed Koro Sensei (Meaning Unkillable Teacher) who destroyed part of the moon and will destroy earth as well if his students don't kill him before the end of March next year. Certainly a new concept, fresh and out of the box.

The comedy of the series comes from Koro Sensei, his unique body and mannerims, and the reactions of his students. It's also very self aware. It knows it's a manga, but the fourth wall jokes are few and far between, so it doesn't feel like it's constantly being mentioned.

While the comedy is a strong point in the series, there are other strong points as well. It's realism, and it's heartwarming characters. The realism shines through in the incredibly realistic guns used against Koro Sensei, and the multiple assassinations that are attempted on his life. The topic of assassination is one that is discussed and deconstructed very thoroughly, pointing out an assassin's strong and weak points, and where an assassination can go wrong. This series is very intelligent in explaining what it takes to kill.

The heartwarming aspects come in through Koro Sensei's dedication to his job. He clearly loves being a teacher, and despite his students constantly trying to kill him, he clearly cares about them, opting not to harm them or let harm come to them. Koro Sensei wants to connect with his students, and have them love learning. It almost makes you wonder why he would want to destroy the earth if he's so clearly dedicated to his job and his students. (Note: This is discussed, however, to keep the review spoiler free, I refuse to mention any of it)

To put it simply, Assassination Classroom is excellent. It has the right amount of character, comedy, and suspense. Koro Sensei is certainly one of my favorite characters to come from any manga, and I absolutely hope we get more of him.

Prepare your Anti-Sensei knives and guns students, because it's time for class. Nufufufufu

I'd planned to write a review after the series finished, since I'm under the assumption it will soon. But now it doesn't look like I need to, since you've covered basically everything I like about the series, and probably far more eloquently than I ever could.
