I'm Not Going to Lie

I actually like this show. Now I'm not going to try and defend this against the negative criticism because most of what people are saying about it is true. The show is largely uninspired, has very bland and very unlikeable characters, tries way too hard to be South Park and Family Guy and uses a ton of gross-out humor. So why do I like it.

It does still make me laugh. While the gross-out is disgusting at times, I still laugh. The story of the show is very weak and consists mostly of this style of humor, yet I still like it. I guess you can say this show is like a Guilty Pleasure for me, because I know fully well why this show gets the criticism it gets but I have some kind of immunity. But then again, I have heard this show does have its fans so it must be doing something right.

Now nearly every character is unlikable but if I had too choose one favorite character, I would have to pick Malloy. He's a jerk in the worst way, insulting every person he comes into contact with, manipulates everyone into spoiling him and probably has the best insults in the show.

The show was a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. There are a few reasons I enjoyed it. First is that even though the show tries too hard to be shocking, the spectacle in of itself is fun to watch. And I do think there are some good gags scattered throughout the show. The last reason I liked it is because it was really fun to listen to Tom Kenny play a vulgar asshole.
