One of the most overrated games I've ever played.

The story takes itself way too seriously for a series about a talking blue hedgehog.

The Sonic/Shadow levels are very linear and automated.

Tails/Eggman's levels consist of walking down narrow hallways in a clunky slow mech. A downgrade from Adventure's Gamma levels.

Knuckles/Rouge's levels are by far the worst in the game, and what ultimately ruins it. The later ones are too big, and the radar has been butchered since Adventure, only detecting one emerald piece at a time.

There's part of me that thinks fans objected to the exploration theme of SA 1, so dumbed down everything to be as linear as possible, even if it made the game for more tedious and bland (forced to hunting one emerald at a time does NOT work with the treasure hunting stages).

I feel that Adventure 1 did the better justice. Sure the voice acting in that game was horrible but in adventure 2 it's MUCH worse. The character animation in Adventure 1 was like puppets but Adventure 2 tried a motion capture system but it looks akward considering that these characters are anthropomorphic animals. The story in SA beats the Sh*t out of SA 2 because I feel it's more condenced even with all the plot holes.
