A Fun, Charming, Simple, Yet Grinding and Complex Game!

The title pretty much says it all. Toontown Online is the first MMORPG to be made for children, and it shows! Pretty much a Disney playground, it has plenty of features, such as minigames, racing, fishing, golfing, gardening, and much more to keep the kids occupied. However, the main game is for everyone. Toontown may be a silly, happy place, but it's under attack by pretty much the opposite of the inhabitants, the Toons. Enter the Cogs. Mean, corporate, business-loving, evil robots bent on taking over Toontown due to how silly and out of control it is and changing it into the biggest Metropolitan city ever conceived! However, Cogs cannot take a joke, so the Toons must fight back using "Gags", such as cream pies to the face, seltzer bottles, and banana peels to make the Cogs quite literally "crack-up". And by that I mean blow up. And it really is super satisfying.

While the turn-based combat seems simplistic at first, as you progress, you need to use more complex strategies if you want to progress smoothly, such as you cannot use "Sound" on Cogs that are "Lured", or it will endanger everyone. Rather, use teamwork with up to 3 other Toons to take down a Lured Cog, adding in a knockback bonus (Cogs are quite literally knocked back when you use a gag on them while they're lured), and destroying the Cog much quicker.

The Toon that you create on your own progresses through the game via "Toon Tasks", which are basically their name. You start off with tasks such as "Defeat 4 Cogs", but gradually escalate to "Defeat 20 4+ Story Cog Buildings". (Cog Buildings are Toon buildings when taken over by Cogs, and you must battle Cogs inside to rescue the Toon building). And, finally, we get to the Cog H Qs, which are permanent cog facilities. They are organized the same way the Cogs are organized. Sellbots, Cashbots, Lawbots, and Bossbots.

Each one has its own boss, but before you can get to him, you must get a suit, and then get the "Merits" necessary to go in, (you have to do this after every time you fight the boss), which is where the difficulty and grinding set in, but it's still so much fun!

Rather than listening to me rambling on how great this game is, just go play it yourself! The game may be closed, but the game is so great, fans have remade the game in the form of "Toontown Rewritten"!

Final Rating: 9.5/10 (There are some bugs)
