Posting here before it turns into any more of an Edit War. Each edit reason has stated their points; I believe mine are more supported by the material. Hawkatana's rely primarily on speculation as to what the show's creators did or did not intend with the character, mostly that BC was meant to be a dramatic portrayal of a transgender character, when there is very little to support this and what IS there contradicts several of their statements.

If BC, say, had a flashback episode showing a struggle with gender identity (or really, if any of the characters grappled with it), this interpretation would hold more weight, but almost everything associated with her reveal is in the explicit context of her espionage. It is a subject that the show merely alludes to, not one it is attempting and failing to explore.

To reiterate, the issue here is not whether BC is transgender, but that multiple points made about her portrayal are either factually incorrect or making assumptions about intent.

My edit isn't based on "speculation", it's based on the text of the actual show; specifically towards BC, and the context surrounding her.

Fact of the matter is, she underwent gender reassignment surgery and identifies as a woman, the only masculine part of her being her voice, which was A) deliberately left as is in order to get past Tarak's security and B) hidden by an electronic filter in her necklace anyway.

There aren't many ways to interpret this.

I'm here, I guess.
