"Given many of the criticisms of the film are that the plot is too simple, the vast majority of Mario games have very straightforward or excuse plots to a point where the franchise has never been known for its narrative depth."
Why is this listed as an Older Than They Think example? Who thinks that The Super Mario Bros. Movie introduced the concept of having a shallow plot to the Mario franchise?

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectThis cannot be. I have never, in all my time of consuming discourse on this movie, seen anyone say, "Wow, I can't believe they took a franchise known for its narrative depth and reduced it to something so simple!"
Yes, I have seen people say that they didn't like how simple the story is. However, it had absolutely nothing to do with what they knew or thought they knew about the Mario franchise. In fact, the entry seems like it's trying to be a rebuttal to this criticism, but all it's really rebutting is the idea of, "Other pieces of Mario media had really complex plots!", an idea which the entry itself doesn't even mention.
Should the blue Toad with the glasses in Peach’s council be marked as a Replacement Scrappy for Toadsworth? After the concept art revealed Toadsworth WAS gonna be in the movie, I’ve seen this guy come under a lot of heat.
Should we change the Harsher in Hindsight info a bit, as just because he's stepping down as the voice of Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, etc., doesn't mean he's leaving the Mario franchise, since he's only becoming a Mario ambassador?
