Personal vote is no for Kubo and yes for the Shinjuku Reapers. Former is a case of The Unfought, but he's seen around enough and the game's plot comes from his machinations. Hard agree on the latter though; Each of them only exist to do their one thing.
Also vote no for Kubo. The developers probably don’t want the characters to fight someone as strong as an Angel. The only time you fight an Angel is when you fight Hanekoma in the first game, but he’s the secret boss, meaning he’s the hardest challenge in and out of universe and holding back.
Putting this up for review since I'm biased and thought the story, characters, and Big Bads' motivation were all shallow.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Shiba is supposed to be seen as an Unwitting Pawn under More than Mind Control who turns into The Atoner. Thing is, the moments leading up to his Heel–Face Turn are less showing him the error of his ways and more telling him that he got played like a fiddle and that he and the one person he cares about will die if he doesn't help out, making it come across as basic self-preservation instead of redemption, especially since he insists that the Reapers' Game continues long after everyone knows it's a sham immediately after. Not helping his sympathy points is him apparently refusing to save Shoka from being erased due to her leaving the Reapers in the ending In fairness or the sheer amount of people he killed pre-Heel–Face Turn including the entire population and city of Shinjuku as well as the hundreds to thousands of Players erased from the 106 rigged Reapers' Games he ran.
Funny thought, but the Plague Noise description is literally Hinamizawa Syndrome and I Just laugh because the only thing that it's missing is the scratching of the neck.
What would that fall under if it was just a coincidence?
So can I ask something for people who got to the third/fourth week? On the character page, Neku forgives Coco for the crap she pulled. Does Neku forgive Joshua though?
I'm asking because that's character shilling if Coco did worse than what Josh did to Neku. 3 weeks versus 3 years cannot compare and what Josh did proved to be good in the end while with Coco, it ended in complete failure.
Hide / Show RepliesOkay. No double standard then. Still hate Coco with how much of an arrogant failure she is.
Judging by what I've seen there is definitely a divide in terms of the plot for this game, but I don't think it's enough of a consensus yet to put it under Play the Game, Skip the Story, especially when we haven't yet gotten a consensus on the game. This seems more like Broken Base.
Eat bread, make sandwiches, know what I'm saying? Hide / Show RepliesSorry for jumping the gun on that. Contested Sequel also seems like a match.
Does the lack of boss fight count as They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character for Kubo? He's a pretty good character, being a conniving bastard, but that also means one would have expected an eventual boss fight with him but we never get one.
Also do the Shinjuku Reapers in general count as that? Some of them don't have much depth and just exist to further the story along, like Ayano, Hishima, and Kaie.
