So I'm a bit confused at something and perhaps someone might help clear it up. Apparently the Infinity Gauntlet has six gems (Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Power and Reality). Ok so I get that the first four are clearly different gems, but what's up with the last two?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but space already covers everything physical so if say I want to move a planet out of orbit then I do that. Time lets me go back to the creation of that planet and use my space gem to make it so it always had that orbit. But what in the heck is power? I suppose it means I can create forms of energy with no actual phsical object being the source. Ok I guess I can get that. But that still leaves me confused about the Reality Gem.
What aspect of reality isn't covered by the other gems? With the time gem you can go back and change the past to however you want, and with the space and power one you are sure to be able to be able to make those changes. Oh look at that, it turns out that I am the cause of the big bang by using my time, space, and power gems. What's more because I have a mind and soul gem I can make it so that everyone thinks the exact way I want without having to muck about with using the space gem to specifically control someone's biological functions.
So then there is the flip side. If I have the reality gem, what's the point of any of the other gems. Ooh look at that I got the reality gem and just changed all of reality so that the other gems never existed. Not only that but you are no longer a dog person, and are now a cat person.
To me it seems like someone created the first five and was all like, cool we have a gem for each finger. Then some edditor was all like, "Five is cool, but we need six" furthermore they were all, "The sixth one should have all the power of the other five, because clearly the five individually aren't already OP enough"
