Fanon: Vergil's prologue cutscene in the Special Edition shows him walking between a crowd in Fortuna. Despite his face partly being concealed by his robe, a woman dressed in red stops in her tracks and takes a short while to glance at Vergil. It has then been speculated that this "woman in red" is Nero's mom.

Speculation? That's entirely factual.

Last time I checked, the lady in red being Nero's mom was still a popular fan theory or speculation, like what DMC fans insist on this video (although the narrator calls her "Vergil's mother" for some reason), or discussed in these posts: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]

When I added that months ago, I can't find any official Capcom statement confirming that woman's identity yet, so I placed it under Fanon. But in case there's finally a confirmation from Capcom/interviews to consider it as factual, then this entry would be moved as a Word of God in the Trivia tab
