The creator responded to the pansexuality controversy with a recognition that the writing room didn't really reflect these experiences accurately, and then introduced a trans character who was written with input from a trans staff writer (Patti Harrison) and voice actress (Josie Totah). They were called out for transphobic implications and then tried to amend those implications with positive trans representation. Not sure why that can't be Author's Saving Throw.
