what are the similarities between them?

Okay, here are the similarities I could find:

• Ren Amamiya = Yugi Muto
  • Ren and Yugi are outcasts in their respective high schools, with many students at Shujin Academy being wary of Ren's criminal record initially and Yugi being very shy and enduring a lot of bullying at Domino High School. The two also possess alter egos under specific circumstances when fighting evil, with Ren becoming Joker after entering the Metaverse and Yugi becoming Dark Yugi before starting a Duel. Another potential similarity between Ren and Yugi would be through their "fighting spirits" (for lack of a better term), Arsène and Dark Magician, having an affinity with darkness.
• Ryuji Sakamoto = Katsuya Jonouchi
  • Ryuji and Jonouchi are blond-haired individuals with rough exteriors who befriend Ren and Yugi, respectively, and serve as Hot-Blooded lancers to them. In Ryuji's case, while he was initially a bit wary of Ren and thought he would rat him out to Kamoshida, the two eventually grow closer after Ren awakens to his Persona powers for the first time and saves himself and Ryuji from dying in Kamoshida's Palace; for Jonouchi, he pretty much owes Yugi his life after the latter stood up to Ushio for beating up Jonouchi and Honda. Ryuji and Jonouchi also attempt to get money for a relative they deeply care about, as Ryuji applies for a track scholarship to alleviate his mother's worries, and Jonouchi enters the Duelist Kingdom tournament to win cash for his sister Shizuka's eye surgery. Another connection between these two is that they each have an alcoholic father.
• Ann Takamaki = Anzu Mazaki
  • Ann and Anzu are the first female characters to befriend the main character and operate as The Heart in their respective works. The two also have part-time jobs, with Ann occasionally working as a model and Anzu being an employee at Burger World.
• Haru Okumura = Shizuka Kawai
  • Haru and Shizuka are gentle and compassionate girls in their respective works.
• Goro Akechi = Seto Kaiba + Ryo Bakura
  • Akechi and Kaiba are brown-haired rivals to Ren and Yugi, respectively, and serve as their Foils by being much more popular and possessing a "fighting spirit" associated with light—Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Robin Hood.   • Akechi and Bakura usually present themselves as kind-hearted and humble individuals who possess something similar to Ren and Yugi, with Akechi having access to more than one Persona and Bakura bearing a Millennium Item. The two also hide a more malicious personality, with Akechi being the mysterious black-masked assassin wreaking havoc in the Metaverse and Dark Bakura residing within Bakura's Millennium Ring.
