I've put these entries here for now, as I think they're based on a slightly unrealistic expectation of how good the average person's memory is, considering that to the characters in the film, the events took place 11 years in the past. Tony and Cap might remember in broad terms what they did during the events of The Avengers, but I don't think they're going to remember their movements in that much detail — and that's before you get to Tony's PTSD potentially clouding his memory of the events, or the implication that Tony might have left Avengers Tower before the Hulk stormed out of the stairwell if not for Ant Man tampering with his heart magnet.

  • To facilitate their plan of traveling to the past to get the stones, remake them and undo Thanos's fingersnap, Captain America splits the teams into three groups: Cap, Tony, Scott, and Bruce will go to New York in 2012 to get the Mind, Space, and Time Stones, back when the Avengers were battling Loki; Nebula, Natasha, Clint and Rhodey will go to Morag and Vormir for the Power and Soul Stones, Thor and Rocket will head to Asgard in 2013 to get the Reality Stone. Of the 2012 group, Scott and Tony go to acquire the Space Stone. You'd Expect: Tony to remember that Hulk threw a temper tantrum on using the stairs in the past. Instead: He forgets this important thing. Result: Past-Hulk's tantrum knocks away Ant-Man and Future Tony just as they get the Cube; Loki grabs it and manages to vanish so he can go off and star in his own show. This necessitates Future Cap and Tony have to go back to 1970 to get the Cube as well as more Pym particles.
  • Concurrent to this one, Steve convinces the STRIKE agents led by Jasper Sitwell to give him the Scepter, which contains the Mind Stone. You'd Expect: Steve would remember what exactly his movements after Loki was secured and being taken into custody. Instead: He doesn't. Result: Steve encounters his past self, who thinks he's Loki using an illusion, and has to fight him.

The Steve one couldn't even possibly count since in the original timeline, Loki never made off with the Tesseract. His movements would be completely different at this point.

As for Tony, yeah. I would imagine remembering "okay, Hulk through a temper tantrum right at this door, right at this time seems a bit much to expect.
