My "reply" was supposed to be a new topic. My mistake.

And I went ahead and eliminated the spoiler tags. When I first made the observation earlier today, I was on my iPad, which is not the best tool for such a task.

Also, keep in mind mere "epiphanies" are not wham lines.

I don't think all the Homestuck examples fit the trope.

  • "You are now Jack Noir. You have just murdered an innocent family. What do you do?" doesn't really radically change the story (it's not even the first time a version of him's been the POV character)
  • Hussie's proposal appears to be a joke on the fandom rather than a serious story thing, although who knows what'll happen in future.
  • "The duel ends. The Seer dies." was hardly unexpected or even permanent.
  • "And what about the OTHER twelve wrigglers you spawned?" isn't a wham. The other ectobiology session we saw spawned two sets too, so all this does is establish that it's how it usually works. (or maybe just how it usually works for scratched/destined-to-be-scratched sessions?)
The list is pretty long compared to what other works has as it is, so I'm going to prune it.

The main page for Wham Line says to expect spoilers, so spoiler tags should be eliminated from this page.
