All 4 One isn't really the series' first use of co-op, Gladiator (some of you know it as Deadlocked) had a mode where you could substitute the two combat bots with another player. Needless to say, two players with actual guns are far more useful than one player with a gun and two "combat" bots with inaccurate, slow-firing, weak guns.
