Re: this entry:

  • Big Bad: According to the website and trailer, King Olly is the primary villain of the game, being the leader of the Folded Soldiers and controlling Peach and Bowser's minions with his origami powers.

Pardon me if I'm missing something, but how do we know that King Olly is the Big Bad of the game? Certainly he appears in the trailer, and certainly he appears to be a villain, but other than being the only villain we've seen so far, what is leading us to conclude that he is the primary villain as opposed to, say, a Disc-One Final Boss?

Edit: As there's been no reply, removing the entry for now.

So... I'm noticing something. The paper characters occasionally did origami on themselves in previous games to perform attacks, particularly in Paper Jam (Koopas to shell toss, Ninjis turned into shurikens, etc.), and came out no worse for wear, yet this game depicts origami as some kind of corruptive transformation. Does this qualify for Cerebus Retcon, even if YMMV?

We will not know until the game comes out. Maybe the mind corruption is purely King Olly's magic and origami is benign otherwise.
