What trope would this be? I've done some experimenting, and it seems Judith Mossman (who you need alive) is difficult to kill until all other enemies have been killed first. Look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hf1YBrWxA0 She's immune to the RPG until there's no more enemies, completely immune Energy Pellets (regardless of enemies), Xenemy attacks.
I decided to do some experimenting while in god mode with enemies around.
Headshot w/ Crossbow -> Only game over without enemies
Explosives -> Only game over without enemies
Headshot w/ Shotgun -> Always kills
Energy Pellets -> Never kill
Xen Grenades -> Never kill, including the xenemies spawned
