Um... if I may be so bold...this article reads like it was written to inform worst-case (1980s) fictional depictions of nuclear war, with commensurate sizes of arsenals, and then-current thinking on EMP, ozone layer and nuclear-winter effects. I did a great deal of research in late 2016 citing credible sources for my own purposes (abandoned book project) and I'd be happy to at least share those sources, which project a more nuanced or doubtful view on these matters. But the last thing I want to do is offend anyone, it's just not worth it.

This article fails to mention the EMP. I don't know much about it or I'd add it myself.

I don't get the Sarah Jane Smith reference. Someone explain?

Hey, fantastic TV Tropers - unfortunately, seems like the links to Nuclear Warfare 101, 102 and 103 no longer work. Real shame, needed to read those essays. Any way to fix? Thanks xox
