I agree, I'd move him back. Not because I think he was an admirable figure by any stretch, but for the reasons you described.
Oof, we need to discuss the Paterno move. At the end of the day, all sanctions were lifted, he wasn't legally culpible for any wrong doing (PA changed the laws since then adding sports coaches as "mandated reporters" for abuse so it would be a crime now), and the restored wins once again made him winningest coach in FBS history. Sandusky is rightfully in "Notorious", but Paterno should remain among the other coaches.
I believe this was discussed once before years ago, probably before all the page splits, and the determination was to leave him there. Can't find that discussion now though.
