According to WHO, COVID-19 seems to be nearing the end of its pandemic phase. I just wanted to bring that up because this is frankly good news, but it remains to be seen how much longer this will be. Also, how long can we wait until we can give a definitive update to the pandemic?
I wish to question if the COVID-19 pandemic is going to lead to a "new era of hedonism, spontaneity, and sexual frivolity akin to The Roaring '20s or The Swinging Sixties" (in section "Where do we go from here?"): with the war in Ukraine, escalating global tensions, increased democratic backsliding, growing anti-immigration sentiment, and worsening political polarisation, the aftermath appears grim in my opinion.
Edited by MisterKronFrom what we have seen now about the pandemic and how some have indeed reported about the Lab Leak Theory to the point where Facebook flip flopped on allowing the discussion of it, maybe the "The virus of the mind" section could be updated to discuss this situation. Seems like the page still thinks that there's no way this was even possible, or that the jury has rendered the verdict. It's still a war between mainstream and more counter culture sources as to what is deemed the truth and what is speculation and what is downright false.
Considering we have most of the world already explained with how they've handled the virus so far, don't you guys think we should also have a section involving how Africa has handled the virus themselves? Maybe not much data was gathered for African nations in 2020, but surely new information might be useful to include for certain areas there by now.
Hide / Show RepliesOkay, so who's going to get the proper research for Africa down here? It's been two months since the last post in question here.
I'm definitely surprised no one's tried to include anything about how African countries have handled the pandemic yet.
The most depressing, soul-crushing dystopian novels are truly blissful compared to the content of this page.
Edited by SolaceWould there be any mileage in a separate page for shows that have had to significantly Retool or noticeably change points of their format owing to the pandemic?
So the definitions folder was added recently, and I think it's useful but I'm not positive about its placement and definitely question the choices of words in there. I don't think "Wet Market" is really relevant to the pandemic as a whole and it's only used one other place on the page.
And I daresay "lockdown" is self-explanatory enough that it really doesn't need one. Especially compared to, say, "Flattening the curve" which somehow isn't mentioned.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Hide / Show RepliesI don't really know if the definitions folder is necessary. I think most of the terms are explained fine in the other folders and are generally self-explanatory.
Should we include Mexico, Central and South America in the responses section?
Hide / Show RepliesI need to say, i love how this page slowly gets bigger with new info
Edited by Braylovsky Yo soy el futuro, luwawanu mu sadila kisalasala kio.Is part of the ROCEJ to not make direct comments on the virus’ lethality?
I got my political views from reddit and that's badAs a page title for reference, COVID-19 Pandemic definitely rolls off the tongue and sounds less clunky than Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic.
Should the section on the Swedish response in "European response and troubles" be changed as more recent assessments have at least somewhat vindicated it?
