Hmm, under Super Robot Wars, should we add Lordgenome of Super Robot Wars Z2? Has a relatively large HP stat, comes with two Elite Mook Dimensional Beasts, gets to move twice a phase, has an ungodly hit rate to where he'll perfectly hit just about every single Real Robot, who are notable for dodging this kind of thing, sufficient power to OHKO said Reals, a FUCKING painful map attack that's going to do a nasty bit of damage, two other attacks that still hurt. To add insult to injury, he also has a nasty HP regen effect that restores a good quarter of his health every turn. I think a lot of people actually lose to this guy because they weren't expecting him to be this powerful.

Long story short, if things were mostly a breeze up to this point, Lordgenome is just going to show up and stomp you. Hard. At the end of the game. Due to the fact he's a really late-game boss, he doesn't quite qualify as a Wake-up Call Boss.

The following post has been removed. That One Boss is a subjective trope, but Final Bosses do not, as a rule, qualify.

  • The first Disgaea game: You can work your way through the game at a fairly brisk pace, all the way up to Seraph Lamington...only to hit a brick wall. This single guy is a friggin' powerhouse, mostly due to the equipment he's wearing. If your characters aren't at least as high-level as he is, you aren't even going to damage him, and if you don't keep healing he'll kill your entire party in a few turns.
