Should this really be filled with examples from fanworks? Tragic interpretations of Touhou canon I can understand, since the official works don't actually have sad moments, but many of these are blatant what ifs and alternate continuities that make assumptions about pairings and what not. And since when has "this character will probably die of old age at some point in the far future" constituted a Tear Jerker. Especially in a world where there are half a dozen ways to become immortal.
