I have a whiff that ARMS may be this. When the Nintendo Switch got announced, it was treated like a big deal and a new fighting game that they were going to support for a long time. Then it came out and most people thought of it as... eh. Updates eventually ground to a halt, the tie-in graphic novel got cancelled, a side character got into Smash instead of the mascot, and there has been no news of a sequel.

There's so much I wish I could take back.
