Removed from season 4:

  • Artistic License – Geography: Ennis is portrayed as being in near-total darkness from mid-December to at least mid-January; while the sun does go down at the latitude given (68 65N) in late November and does not rise again until mid-January, it remains just below the horizon and the town would experience twilight conditions, not total darkness.

Some scenes do show the sky in twilight, so unless this entry means that the town would never experience total darkness during the winter period, this entry is inaccurate.

I wrote that entry around the time the second episode aired, and we don't see twilight conditions until around Episode 3.

Made a soft split by seasons, I see editor Ominae moved season 2 character tropes to the respective subpage, but it doesn't make much sense to me, this is a character driven work, almost a miniseries, and those tropes seem pertinent in the main page, unless a proper argument is made against it. Editors are re-adding them back naturally, whithout knowing they were removed I believe, which gives you an indication about their validity.

Perhaps series-wide tropes could be given a new folder when season 2 finishes, but the independent folders are in tune with the nature of the series too.

Makes sense.

Eventually, I'd imagine that each season is going to need its own page once this gets long enough, but there's no reason the seasons should be all mixed together.

Personally I don't like moving character-specific tropes out of the main page, because I rarely even look at character pages. If the trope is in the work, I think it should be in the main page.

At least one member of the cult escaped. People in contact with Reggie and Childress mention that he said there were five of them. Reggie (confirmed), Childress (confirmed), Tuttle (possible), and Reggie's cousin (possible) are the only ones identified as in direct contact with the cult, and two are directly identified as members. The videotape also shows at least five members with Marie. Assuming those other two are the other members, that leaves at least one unconfirmed member. Maybe Childress was just a cover in the same manner that he used Reggie. Please feel free to poke holes in this.

As much as I hate conjecture, I think we can include the similarity between Hart and Cohle to "Heart and Soul" given the ubiquity of that phrase and, well, the fact that every time they're introduced together it's always in that order. It's obviously not an accident.
