Overshadowed by Awesome: Cara, Fennec, Bo-Katan, and Koska manage to blast their way through an entire Imperial cruiser and kill everyone on board, while Din defeats a Nigh-Invulnerable Dark Trooper and captures Moff Gideon alive after a grueling duel. All these are impressive feats... until Luke Skywalker shows up and solos all the remaining Dark Troopers to show the difference between a crew of Badass Normals and a Jedi Master. This is only the second time in the series where Din is demonstrably upstaged, and for the second time, it is by a Jedi.
The reason stated is, "Misuse. The trope is not just, "Someone shows up who's a better fighter than the others.""
IMO that's not at all a correct description of the episode.
The eponymous protagonist gets the tar beat out of him and barely manages to disable *one* of the Dark Troopers. Luke defeats literally dozens without breaking a sweat or breathing hard. That's enough to justify the trope. If you look at the other examples under the trope, the OP's objection seems to fit most or all of them. So perhaps the trope doesn't mean what the OP seems to think it does. Maybe there's a better trope to put this item under. But I disagree with cutting it for the strange reason stated.
Is there anyone who has *seen the episode* who thinks Mando and the gang are *not* overshadowed by Luke's awesome?
