- Something Only They Would Say: When Sauron tries to trick Galadriel with an illusion of Finrond, Galadriel is briefly tempted but sees through it by asking "Finrond" about their favorite spot to play as children. When she awakens from the illusion and sees Elrond, Galadriel, thinking this is another trick, pulls a dagger to ask when they first met, which Elrond correctly answers.
This doesn't happen in the release version, he tells her to remember the conversation they once had and to embrace darkness once more, then she realizes it's not his brother...
Sauron could pull the trick again
Galadriel asks Elrond to prove he's really Elrond. She asks him to tell her something private. This is right after Sauron recreates her private conversation with her brother Finrod. So she KNOWS that Sauron can use her memories to create fake dialog in her brain so why does she think that Elrond's answer proves that Sauron isn't just doing it again?
