John Walker did nothing wrong, and how dare he kill a terrorist for not really surrendering

Ambiguously Evil: The entry states that it's unclear why Sharon got Batroc out. Given that he later shows up to help Karli and the others, who are not at all surprised to see him, doesn't it follow that Sharon is in league with the Flag Smashers, or more precisely, that she is the Head Flag Smasher?

I think that's a reasonable assumption, especially one that's supported by implications in previous episodes.

I'd say the fact that she broke Batroc out and has been hiring him already took away the "ambiguous" part and doesn't rely on any implications or guesswork.

The question is why she did that, which we still don't know. And given how much the show references the Captain America movies, her hiring Batroc could be similar to Fury hiring him in The Winter Soldier to flush out corrupt agents in SHIELD.

In that sense, I would say her actions are less ambiguous, but more genuinely "???" - she could be in league with the flagsmashers, like my original idea, or she could be playing both them and Batroc for an as yet unknown goal similar to Fury in TWS, or she could be playing everybody for her own nefarious reasons(though I personally think that's the least likely).
