There is no indication that "Beyond the Corona Walls" is an un-numbered episode or a special.
The first season started with a special (Before Ever After), yes, but that doesn't automatically mean that every season's first episode is a special (which the user who kept changing it back seemed to think).
They also seemed to think that just because BtCW is an Extra-Long Episode, it is a special. It is not. This series has a habit of having ExtraLongEpisodes, with the first season having two NOT counting "Before Ever After", and those were numbered.
As the sources you cite show, the Creator themselves clearly counts BtCW as #1.
Also, the URL's / page titles of the individual Recap pages now do not match the Recap page, because those do list BtCW as #1.
So I vote for listing BtCW as #1 too.
Regarding numbering for "Beyond the Corona Walls": "Before Ever After" was a separate 'pilot' TV Movie, longer than the standard feature-length episode, and not branded as "Tangled: The Series" anywhere in the programme. Hence why it is separate from the rest of Season 1.
"Beyond the Corona Walls" is none of these. It is listed as Episode 1 of Season 2 on every other website, so one user being stubborn on TV Tropes shouldn't get in the way of it being listed the same here.

Note how "Before Ever After" appears separate from Season 1 in all of the above links, but "Beyond the Corona Walls" is S 02 E 01 in all cases.
