I heard about a Mexican proverb, "In the house of the blacksmith, there are no knives," and I've also heard stories of how people who clean houses for a living have terribly dirty houses because... they're tired of cleaning houses and don't want to clean any more than they have to. And I know from experience that an IT professional doesn't want to fix his son's computer all the time.
Any thoughts on expanding this trope to include this sort of thing? Its current state seems to be entirely about lawyers and doctors, despite the name.
Be hard like a bone, not a rock. Protect something.
