It must depend on how much of a cynic you are. So YMMV. That's all I think I can say on the subject.

Do we seriously need all these variations of the Law at the bottom of the page?

What's with the Crud/crap edit war? Which is the right one? Or is it just someone wanting to sanitize the entry?

Supposedly it's actually crud, and crap is a common misquoting of the revelation. See the other wiki for more info. It's just a case of did not do the research, maybe.

How true is Sturgeon's Law anyway? Assuming that the ratio of overrated-underrated movies is even, 45% of movies released in theaters in 2010 got a "good" average rating on Metacritic. Of course, that's not counting Direct-to-Video and unreleased films, which might skew the total average of good movies way, way down, but that would mean Sturgeon's Law can only really apply to the most general of categories. Or is 10% the average across all categories? And there's a lot of variation between categories. At least half of the films on the shortlist for the Best Animated Feature Oscar this year would count as not crud. And on the opposite extreme, the good 10% of video game adaptations doesn't exist yet.
