Hello. This is something I have wondered about this trope and the leftover from Whip It Good, which costed the Castlevania entry. I think the famed Vampire Killer whip wielded by the Belmont clan from said series count in some ways:

  • First, the whip mostly take form of either a leather whip or chain whip depending on the upgrades taken. Both are the most common forms of BDSM whip.
  • Second, the Belmont clan, Depending on the Artist, wears heavily leather armor, and sometimes, it goes straight to BDSM gear altogether
  • Most importantly, the Vampire Killer is designed to slay creatures of darkness. It can be said that it holds a form of domination when whipping creatures of darkness because they just won't stay put in harming humanity. So it's... there, even if the users aren't heavily dominatrix-based. Doesn't stop some fans to portray them as a family with BDSM-whipping kink.

If I have to write out an entry for it, this is what it'll look like:

  • Castlevania: The Vampire Killer whip wielded by the Belmont clan either takes form of a leather or chain whip, and some of its wielder wears tight leathers or borderline bondage gear Depending on the Artist. In terms of dominance, its purpose to slay creatures of the dark signify that it holds a magical dominance over creatures of the dark.

Still, does it fit?

I'm not very familiar with the Castlevania series, so I can't say for sure about the first two points. But if Fanon does portray them as a "family with BDSM-whipping kink" I guess you could make an example focused on that.

But on the third point and this bit "In terms of dominance, its purpose to slay creatures of the dark signifies that it holds a magical dominance over creatures of the dark." I think it's a bit of a stretch on the concept of domination/control and doesn't really fit.

This is one of the reasons some people where reluctant to scrap the previous whip related trope, also the real-life section was very handy for anyone trying to come up with realistic weapons for a whip wielding character. For this reason I think there should be some place for the information.
